On hand for the signing of the pro- clamation were Equipment Manager Jim Grady and coaches Rick Breault, Ron ‘Cless, Jim Smith, and Bumper Yohe of the ‘‘Don- egal Braves’ Midget teams. Midget football is open to all boys residing in Donegal School District who are between the ages of eight and thirteen (boys who turn 8 before Septem- Football clinic to be held Sat., Aug. 14th The fourth annual Elementary-Junior High Football Clinic will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 14, at Donegal High School. Boys entering grades 4 - 8 are invited to come to the high school for 2 hours of instructional movies, drills, and refreshments. The clinic is run by the Donegal High School foot- ball coaching staff. MYO to hold annual picnic, August 22nd by Mary E. Hoover The annual MYO Picnic and Pig Roast will be held on Sunday, August 22nd at 1 p.m. Roast pork, rolis and butter, utensils and drinks will be provided by the MYO. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs. Being a covered-dish social, everyone is asked to bring one hot dish and one cold dish to serve 10-12 persons. A featured attraction will be a baseball game bet- ween the ‘‘Maytown Miracles’ and the ‘‘Mid- gets’’. Trophies will also be awarded. The coaches are hoping for a good turnout this year. There are currently about 100 boys in the league, but coach Ron Cless said, ‘“We can use all we get. There’s plenty of room for any boy who wants to play.” Coach Rick Breault would like to see more participation by par- ents, especially at the par- ent’s meetings. ‘“This will lead to a better season’’, he said. Parents are also needed to run concession stands, as well as to support the teams by their presence at the games. The Donegal Braves will start off with a pre-season game against Quarryville. There will be a total of 8 league games. Practice will be from 6 to 8 Monday thru Friday, starting August 16th, at D.H.S. After school starts, practice will be limited to Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. This is the 16th season for the Donegal Braves Midget Team.
