The celebra- tion will feature 3 days of action packed enjoyment for the entire family. On Thursday, July 1st at 6 p.m., the committee has planned a street dance for all who enjoy dancing or just listening. Music will be provided by ‘‘Whiskey Train’. Friday, July 2nd at 6 p.m. there will be live entertainment, games, rides, and plenty of food. Saturday, July 3rd will be filled with activities for everyone. In the morning the second annual ‘‘Flea Market’ will begin. It will run all day. At 2 p.m. old fashion kiddie games for the ages of 4-12 will be held on the baseball field. There will be prizes for everyone. At 4:30 p.m. the Mari- etta Community Chorus will offer a musical pro- gram. Following their per- formance 200 balloons will be released from a Bicen- tennial birthday cake in honor of our 200 years of freedom. At 6 p.m. bridge-Conoy the Bain- Township TIE RR bg + * Sol | Chorus will present a musical tribute for our country’s birthday. Live entertainment will be pro- vided the remainder of the evening by ‘‘Whiskey Train.” Promptly at 10:30 p.m., the largest fireworks dis- play in Lancaster County will be thrust upward to highlight this year’s bicen- tennial celebration. Donegal High School class of 1956 held 20th The class of 1956 of Donegal High School held their 20th Reunion on Sat- urday evening, June 26, at the Treadway Inn, Lan- caster. The invocation was given by Rev. Gary Epler and following a delicious buffet dinner, George McKain, class president, welcomed the 74 class- members and guests. The eT a evening was dedicated to memories, friendships, and fun. The classmates enjoy- ed reminiscing about the carefree days of the S0’s when troubles and re- sponsibilities were few and gave credit to the many dedicated teachers of that time, many of whom are still teaching today. A table of ‘memoriabilia was filled with news clippings and photographs of classmates. After remarks centering around the theme of the evening, ‘“Memories’’, Ronald E. Hawthorne closed his talk with the statement ‘‘Donegal High School says, a place in your memory is all that I claim. Donegal Church to be featured on NBC TV viewers from Maine to California will see Donegal Church on their screens this July 4th. A morning service will be broadcast live on NBC network at about 9:30 a.m. Another service, to be held at 11 a.m. will not be televised. The televised service will include; an anthem sung by the choir; Scripture reading by Mrs. Mary Sarver; a prayer by Rev. Stephen Getty, pastor of the Ist Presbyterian Church of Mount Joy; a sermon by Rev. Robert C. Murphy of Donegal Church; and a hymn which will be lined by a precentor. (A pre- centor chanted the lines of hymns to the congregation in the days before hymnals and organs.
