Christian Women’s
“Hurrah for the Red,
White and Blue,” will be
the theme of the E-town
Christian Women’s Club
meeting on July 7th at
Hostetter’'s in Mt. Joy. A
noon meeting is planned.
Ladies with early-Amer-
ican type dresses are asked
to wear them.
Richard Merritt,
baritone, will present
Sounds of America. Paul
Pollock, educator, Middle-
town Jr. High School, will
give the history of the
American flag. Mrs. Orion
Rhodes, Lancaster, will
speak on Words for all
America.
Mrs. Rhodes has trav-
extensively in Europe
and Asia and is in demand
as a speaker for youth
groups, churches, and
Christian Women's Clubs.
She is a graduate of East
Texas Baptist College and
Sou'h Western Baptist
Theological Seninary. She
is a homemaker and mo-
ther
Last week’s meeting fea-
tured Mother-Son night
and sons from early years
to middle age came with
their mothers. The program
featured sports fashions
from B & B Sporting
Goods, Elizabethtown.
A lively and talented
music group from Messiah
College furnished music.
Donald MacCullough
from Lancaster College of
Bible spoke on ‘‘What’s
the Score,’”’ and urged
giving our best efforts to
our Christian commitment
as an athlete must give
better than his best if he is
to won top honors in his
field.

Floral prizes were a-

who most recently went

Prizes to sons were gift
certificates from B & B
Sporting Goods. They
were given to Don Barber,
the son who most recently
went for a bike ride with
his mother; to Chris McCue
who most recently played
tennis with his mother; and
to Bobby Longenecker for
carrying the most recent
picture of his mother.

Jill E. Cole appointed assistant
Michigan Hospital
director at
Mrs. Richard Jill E.)
Cole, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. Edward Charles,
Marietta, was recently ap-
pointed Assistant Director
of Speech Pathology at
Pontiac Osteopathic
Hospital, Michigan.
Jill, a 1965 Donegal High
School graduate, is an
Alumnus of Sullins College,
VA; the University of
Maryland; and Temple
University where she earn-
ed her Masters Degree in
1971. In 1972, Jill received
her Certificate of Clinical
Competence. Her back-
ground includes the former
position of a research
associate at the Lancaster
Cleft Palate Clinic, a
Language Clinician at the
Special School District of
St. Louis County, Kerks-
ville, Missouri and former
Guest Lecturer for the
Temple University Gradu-
ate School. Mrs. Cole is a
member of the American
Speech and Hearing
Association, the American
Dr. Graham to head
dept. at Penn State
Dr. Robert J. Graham of
_ Mount Joy has been named
the new Program Head in
the Humanities Department
at Penn State Capitol
Campus, replacing Dr.
Nancy Tischler, who is
returning to full-time teach-
ing.
Dr. Graham received his
B.S. in English-Education
from East Stroudsburg
State College, graduating
with honors in 1957. He
received his Master's de-
gree and Ph.D. in English
from the University of PA.
Prior to coming to Capi-
tol Campus, Dr. Graham
was an assistant professor
of English at Rider College,
Trenton State College and
Penn State at University
Park. Dr. Graham has done
extensive work in human
relations and in the period
1966-68 he directed a four
state study of federally
supported programs for the
disadvantaged under a
Title I grant from the U.S.
Office of Education. Dr.
Graham has also taught
and developed experiment-
al curricula for English and
American Studies at
several high schools in PA
and New Jersey.
