Page 4 - SUSQUEHANNA TIMES Obituaries CHRISTINE HIESTAND Mrs. Christine Hiestand, 36, wife of John E. Hies- tand, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday at her home, 11 West High Street, May- town. She had been ill for the past 2'2 years. Born in East Hempfield Township, she was a daughter of Christian M. and Elizabeth V. Lehman Hostetter, of Millersville. She was a member of the Congregational Bible Church of Marietta, the Senior Choir of the church and of the Christian Wo- man’s Club. Surviving besides her husband and parents are four children: John A. Delbert W., Debra A., and Kevin E., all at home. A sister, Carol Joy, wife of John Jefferson, of Lan- caster and a brother, W. Steven Hostetter, of Mil- lersville, also survive. JAMIE LYNN HEINEY Jamie Lynn Heiney, three months and seven days old, daughter of Wesley and Barbara Jo Heiney, was found dead Saturday morning in her crib at her home, 31 New Haven Street, Mount Joy. Besides her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Eugene Bender, of Mount Joy; her maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Chester Die- trich, of East Petersburg; her maternal great-grand- mother, Mrs. Zelah M. Bender, of Mount Joy; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Heiney of Lancaster R6, and her paternal great-grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Heiney of Lan- caster. FLORENCE GATES Mrs. Florence R. “Mom’’ Gates, 78, of 36 West Walnut Street, Mari- etta, died Sunday at 6:35 a.m., at th Fairview Manor Convalescent Home, Col- umbia, where she had been a guest for one year. Born in Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late John and Minerva Mitchell Troutman. She was the widow of John E. Gates, who died in 1961. She was a retired cook, having worked at the Col- umbia Hospital. She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Marietta and the auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Retired Trainmen. WILLIAM R. PFAUTZ William R. Pfautz, 70, of Mount Joy R2, died unex- pectedly Thursday at 12:05 p.m., at his home. He had been under the care of a physician. He was the hus- band of Laura Hamilton Pfautz. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Samuel and Maria Rice Pfautz. He was a lifelong resident of Lancaster County and a member of the Mount Joy Community Lutheran Church. He retired from Olmsted Air Force Depot in 1969 and last worked as a brick- layer for Drew Mummau, Mount Joy. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, John Joseph, Columbia R1, two grandchildren and two sis- ters, Mrs. George Flowers, Palmyra R2; and Emma, wife of Horace Mathis, Perkasie. GEORGE ROBERTS, SR. George (Sam) Roberts, ™ Sr., 76, of 660 East Market Street, Marietta, died Thursday at noon in St. Joseph Hospital after a five-week illness. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Reikard Roberts who died in January, 1974. Born in Marietta, he was a lifelong resident of the borough and was the son of the late George S. and Mary Adelman Roberts. He was a retired employee of ITT Grinnell Company, Columbia, and retired in 1967 after 40 years of ser- vice. He attended Con- gregational Bible Church, Marietta. He was a member of the Marietta Beneficial Associ- ation, Loyal Order of Moose, Columbia, and Mount Joy Fish and Game Association. He is survived by the following children: George S. Roberts, Jr., and Ed- ward J. Roberts, Columbia; John H. Roberts, Carisle; Betty Jane, wife of Earl White, Columbia; Ethel, wife of Paul Gottshall, Marietta; Robert J.
