Diane Waltz earns award Miss Diane Waltz, a senior member of the secretarial office practice class, was the lone student to qualify for a proficiency certificate in spelling a- warded by the Education Committee of the Lancaster Chapter of the Administra- tive Management Society. Each year, this chapter sponsors and supplies a S00- word spelling list for inter- ested students. A pro- ficiency certificate is award- ed to each student who correctly spells, in writing, 100 words that are pre- selected by AMS from the original list. During the month of March the students in the office practice classes at Donegal High School stud- ied twenty-five of these words daily. Last Wednes- day the students spelled the 100 word test in writing and Diane qualified as the only winner. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Waltz, 305 Marietta Avenue, Mount Joy, PA. Diane is a member of the Donegal Chapter of the National Honor Society. She is an associate member of the Donegal Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America, a member of Craft Club, and she served in the high school office as a student secretary. She is employed part- time as a sales girl and lay-away clerk at K-Mart in Lancaster. Diane plans to work for a year and then maybe contin- ue her education in the business field.
