Walter Sloan of Mount Joy has been in- volved in needlepoint since long before it was fashion- able. As a hobby, Mrs. Sloan has extensively decor- ated the interior of her home with needlepoint projects. Mrs. Sloan works in three mediums—crewell, needle- point, and embroidery, and needlepoint is her favorite, although crewell runs‘‘a close second’. Mrs. Sloan explained the differences among crewell, needlepoint, and embroider- y. Crewell is basically a wool thread worked on linen. Embroidery is a cotton thread worked on linen, and needlepoint is a wool or acrylic thread worked on canvas.
