The contention of the citizens of that territory that the enactment of the legislation proposed lyeans the utter ruin of their industries, is hav ing much weight with the conserv ative element, and congress nppenrs indisposed to enter upon the policy of granting exclusive franchises on the public hinds to individuals' or corpo rations. Tendency of the Times The tendency of medical science is toward preventive measures. The best thought of the world is being given to the subject. It is easier and better to prevent than to cure. It has been fully demonstrated that pneumonia, one of the most danger ous diseases that medical men have to contend with, can be prevented by the use of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. Pneumonia always results from a cold or an attack of influenza (grip), and it has been observed that this remedy counteracts any tend ency of these diseases toward pneu monia. Thfs has been fully proven in many thousands of cases in which this remedy has been used during the great prevalence of colds and grip in recent years, and can be relied upon wUh implicit confidence. Pneumonia often results from a slight cold when no danger is ap prehended until it is suddenly dis covered that there is fever and difficulty in breathing and pains in the chest, then it Is announoed that the patient has pneumonia. Be on the safe side and take Chnmborlain's Cough Remedy as soon as the cold is contracted. It always cares. For sale by Balch & son, Matnmors, all general stores in Pike county.
