The bills for the bounty paid for fox pelts were duly presented to the proper official, a long time before our Hoard of Freeholders met, and now I am told to append said affidavits to a printed blank affidavit a form ap proved by the board and then the bounties will be paid. Red tape Is responsible for h lot of delay. How about that town hall for this township. Nearly every one with whom I have talked, is favorable to the building of the hall. That it will le a benefit no one will deny and agitate the question and the hall will be an assured fact. Our Board of Freeholders has voted to ask our members of the legislature to urge the repeal of the fox bounty now on 'our statutes. Freeholder Cloble urged the repeal on the ground that he was unable to secure the necessary help to gather his ice crop. And the tail is going to wag the dog is it. Well, Well, the voters of Mr. Goble's township should see to it, that Mr. Goble is relieved of his freeholder duties, to the end that he may secure that valuable ice crop, and the patrons of the Newton Kecord are sorry to see it second Mr. Goble's plaint. Tendency ol the Times The tendenoy of medical science is toward preventive measures. The best thought of the world Is being given to the subject. It is easier aod better to prevent than to cure It has been fully demonstrated that pneumonia, one of the most danger ous diseases that medical men have to oontend with, can be prevented by the use of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. Pneumonia always results from a cold or an attack of influenza (grip), and it has been observed Hi 'it this remedy counteracts any tend ency of these diseases toward pneu monia. This has beon fully proven in many thousands of cases in which this remedy has been used during the great prevalence of colds and grip in recent years, arid cau be relied upon wi ,h implicit confidence. Pneumonia often results from a slight cold when no danger is ap prehended until it is suddenly dis covered that there is fever and difficulty in breathing and pains in the chest, then it is announced that tlie patient has pneumonia.
