PAGE 12 THE DALLAS POST Sunday, October 27,2013 Golfer Mariano 1s two-time state winner Staff Report Shavertown’s Mariano Medico, a senior at Holy Redeemer, earned a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class AA boys golf medal for the second straight year when he shot 9-over-par, 151 for two rounds at Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center in York Monday and Tuesday. Medico finished sixth in the 36-player field. After finishing fifth in the state Class AA tourna- ment last season, Medico shot 77 in Monday’s first round to reach the half- way point of the tourna- ment in seventh place. Fairfield’s Isaiah Logue shot 70-69—139 to win the title. Newberry Country Club announces golf club MaryAnn Martin returned to Newberry in 2013 to reclaim her 2008 ladies champion title. In an exciting match against Nancy Silvi, Martin emerged the victor. Bob Osipower and Bruce Gover faced off in the men’s championship. Both final- ists entered the 18 hole match as three-time Newberry champions. Osipower was able to reclaim the title. Tyler Osipower, an 11-year-old Dallas stu- dent, was crowned the Newberry junior golf champion.
