Two DHS grads named to dean's list Erik Cannon and Christine McCarthy, both of Dallas, have been recognized for academic honor on the 2012 fall semester dean’s list at Lafayette College. Each of the students has achieved at least a 3.60 semes- ter grade point average out of a possible 4.0. Both Cannon and McCarthy are graduates of Dallas Senior High School. Supey Kappler is Solo Grand Champion Carly Kappler, 9, of Dallas, recently competed at the Per- forming Arts Alliance Con- test of Champions in King of Prussia. By placing in her 2012 performances, she was entitled to compete as a fi- nalist in the 8-9 age category at the January competition. Kappler was named Solo Grand Champion in the over- all age group 8-9. She was awarded the honor and $250 for her solo tap performance which was the highest scored dance solo within her age group. Kappler also won two Tops In Awards for her Solo Tap & Solo Ethnic dances and three Tops In Awards for her Duo Tap, Duo Specialty and Trio Tap categories. She is a member of the Sugar and Encore dance groups which won Tops In Line Tap, Line Specialty, Line Pantomime and Group Pantomime. Sugar was named Grand Champion Line Specialty in the 8-9 age group and was awarded $1,000.
