Fiddler’ comes to Music Box The Music Box Youth Players will present “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 22; at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 23; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 24 at the Music Box Play- house, Hughes Street, Swoyers- ville. This classic junior adaptation will feature over 25 talented young performers ages 8 to 20. In the little village of Anatev- ka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jew- ish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Cza- rist Russia. “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” will be presented as a special show- only production and all tickets are $14. Beef dinner planned The Sweet Valley volunteer fire Company will hold a family-style beef dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. Fireworks set for July 1 The annual fireworks dis- play at the Back Mountain Harvest Assembly will begin at dusk on Sunday, July 1. Hope Center offers program with Wilkes The Hope Center, in con- junction with The Wilkes Motorcyclists across the ar- ea are invited to join WRGN for its first-ever Ride for Radio on Saturday, June 23 to raise funds for WRGN, a non-com- mercial, listener-supported Christian radio station which can be heard on 88.1 FM throughout the Back Mountain area. Check-in will begin at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the WRGN studios located at 2457 State Route 118, Hunlock Creek. The ride will begin at 10:30 a.m. where motorcyclists will enjoy a 65-mile, 1 %2 hour ride through beautiful North- eastern Pennsylvania. The ride will conclude back at the WRGN studios where a cook- out style lunch will be served. Pre-registration includes a WRGN Ride for Radio t-shirt, entry in a drawing for prizes and a meal following the ride. Suggested donation for bikers is $20 and $15 for passengers.
