Karen Boback (R-Columbia/Lu- zerne/ Wyoming) has announced this year’s Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), which assists eligible senior citizens in purchas- ing fresh fruits and vegetables at markets. local farmers In order to be eligible for the program, an indi- vidual must be at least 60 years of age or turn 60 before the end of 2012. Proof of age, income and county residence are required. Income guidelines per household include $20,655 for a household of one, $27,991 for a household of two, $35,317 for a household of three, $42,643 for a household of four and $49,969 for a household of five. Eligible participants will receive four $5 vouch- ers which can be redeemed at participating farm markets and stands. The vouchers can be used to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. Processed foods, baked goods, nuts, cider, honey, jam and certain citrus and tropical fruits are not included in the program.
