Dinner will include salad, bread, dessert and drinks. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years of age. Finlay, 77, of Dallas, died Friday, January 27, 2012, at Mercy Center, Dallas. He was born in Bangor, North- ern Ireland, and was educated at Friends School in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, He left Belfast on a cargo boat and immigrated to North Amer- ica, settling in Edmonton, Cana- da, in 1957, where he entered the insurance industry and became the owner of The Royal Insur- ance Brokerage Firm. His family located to the Wyoming Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Cen- during the Agnes flood of 1972. His first business venture was completing the development and operating the Provincial Tower complex in Center City Wilkes-Barre. A noted business- man, he was the founder of Humford Equities, a property de- velopment and management company of commercial and resi- dential properties throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. He was an associate of the In- surance Institute of Canada, served as director of the United Penn Bank Board, the Mellon Bank Regional Board and the Committee for Economic Growth. He gave his time to the boards of the Greater Wilkes- Barre Chamber of Commerce and Westmoreland Club, and was a founding board member of the EM. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts. In recognition of his continued support of arts in the region, he, ‘along with his son Robert, was given the “Friends of the Arts Theater Award” by the Fine Arts Fiesta in 2009. He served as a trustee of Mi- sericordia University. He and his wife were awarded the Miser- icordia Trustee Associates Award and honored at a dinner on campus.
