Dwyer's pin lifts Knights over Dallas Lake-Lehman’s Josh Sayre pinned Eric Young of Dallas in the finale of an intense dual in front of a near-capac- ity crowd at Lake-Lehman, pushing the Black Knights to a 32-31 victory over their arch-rivals in a Wyoming Val- ley Conference Division II meet. Sayre needed just five team points in the match and the Black Knights, having the most wins, would have won on tiebreaking criteria. A 15- point victory seemed a little far away as he held just a 50-2 lead when the referee slapped the mat. With the win, the Black Knights had an opportunity to secure the division title and the conference’s No. 1 seed in the District 2 Class 2A Duals Tournament when they met Hanover area and Wyoming Area. The loss dropped the Mountaineers (4-1) to a tie with Wyoming Area as the on- ly teams with one loss in the Division II. Youths win Four boys and one girl from the Back Mountain area were named local winners of the 2012 Father O'Leary Knights of Co- lumbus #8224 Free Throw Championship, earning the right to compete at the district level in February. Nicole Cava- naugh, the returning champion, was the 12-year-old girls’ cham- pion and Nick Kocher, also a re- turning champion, was the win- ner of the 12-year-old boys’ divi- sion. In the 13-year-old boys’ brack- et, Lee Eckert, a returning champion, retained his cham- pionship. The 14-year-old boys’ division was won by Jonathan Wilson.
