It has been a club tradition for several decades to wish everyone who passes by a happy holiday season. At arecent meeting of the Rotary Club of Dallas, the theme for the evening was raising funds and food to help the Back Mountain Food Pantry to meet the needs of dozens of families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. A mini-auction was held followed by a raffle. More than $400 was raised and more than 300 pounds of food was donated. JILL ZAPOTOSKI, MICHAEL O'DONNELL Engagement announced Dr. Jill Marie Zapotoski and Michael Anthony O’Don- nell, of Dallas, together with their families, announce their upcoming marriage. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael and Cheryl Zapotoski, Hanover Township. She is the grand- daughter of Regina Langley, Wilkes-Barre; Leonard Orlos- ki, Mountain Top; Maryann Zapotoski, Ashley; and the late John Zapotoski. She is a 2003 graduate of Hanover Area High School and a 2009 graduate of the Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, Docto- rate in Pharmacy. She is em- ployed as a pharmacist with the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. The prospective groom is the son of Kevin and Denise O’Donnell, Emporium. He is the grandson of Dr. Thomas and the late Eileen O’Don- nell, Hanover Township; Ma- ry Smith, Luzerne; and the late George Smith. He is a 2001 graduate of Meyers High School, a 2006 graduate of Bloomsburg Uni- versity and a 2009 graduate of the Dickinson School of Law. He is an attorney with O’Donnell Law Offices, King- ston. The couple will exchange vows in Cape May, NJ in June 2012. PEOPLE BRIEFS Johnstone graduates from basic training Army Reserve Pvt. Vin- cent M. Johnstone has grad- uated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Law- ton, Okla. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and re- ceived instruction and train- ing exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksman- ship, weapons use, map reading and land naviga- tion, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics. Johnstone earned dis- tinction as an honor gradu- ate. A 2009 graduate of Lake- Lehman High School, he is the son of Marie and Dou- glas Johnstone of Meeker Outlet Road, Dallas.
