Sandra Major (R- Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyom- ing) and Karen Boback (R- Columbia/Luzerne/Wyom- ing) have announced a Recy- cling Performance Grant in the amount of $4,233 for Wyoming County. The Pennsylvania Depart- ment of Environmental Pro- tection (DEP) awards Recy- cling Performance Grants in addition to funds it allocates to help communities estab- lish and maintain recycling programs. Grant amounts are based on population and the total amount of recycled material. Wyoming County salvaged 563.7 tons in 2009, which could have ended up in a landfill. More information about recycling is available at www.DEP.state.pa.us.
