Event celebrates 180th year of Mercy Sisters Those whose lives have been touched by a Sister of Mercy will have the chance to say thank you at a unique event on Saturday, Sept. 10 that will cele- brate both the 180th anniver- sary of the founding of the Sis- ters of Mercy and a milestone in one of the order’s most unique ministries, the 10th anniversary of the university’s Women with Children (WWC) Program. Scout Troop 146 enjoys Father's Day canoe trip Boy Scout Troop 146 of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department recently celebrated Father’s Day 2011 with its Second Annual Father’s Day Canoe Trip down the Susquehanna River. Sixteen boys, their dads and two little sisters participated in the morning-long, nine-mile ad- venture which included canoe- ing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and a lunch break on a river is- land. Scouts used their Bird Study merit badge experience to spot several unique Pennsylvania birds on the trip, including loons, the Great Blue Heron and two Bald Eagles in flight. David Parmelee, Troop 146 As- sistant Scoutmaster and Canoe- ing Merit Badge instructor, con- ducted all pre-event preparations and scout education sessions. Roberta Klein joins chiropractic clinic Dr. Roberta Klein has joined the staff of the Klein Chiroprac- tic Clinic in Dallas. Dr. Klein graduated from Misericordia University, Marywood University and Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic. She is the author and creator of the “Grafted-In” series of books. She is themother of three children Klein and grandmother of two. In addition to being a licensed chiropractor, Dr. Klein is a regis- tered dietitian and a licensed nutritionist with a specialty in the anti-inflammatory diet for autoimmune diseases. Baker serves on special committee Senator Lisa Baker (R-20) has been appointed to a special committee created to study ways to honor future Medal of Honor recipients in Pennsylva- nia. The Select Committee, autho- rized by House Resolution 331, will plan for the future use of Soldiers’ Grove and the Medal of Honor Memorial in Harris- burg.
