Born on December 10, 1980, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a graduate of Dallas High School, class of 2000. He was employed by Dove Windows, Hanover Township, as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of the Ma- sonic Lodge # 455 and the Direc- tor’s Staff of Irem Temple. Surviving are his mother, Ka- ren Oplinger Adams, Trucksville; his wife, the former Amanda Al- len; sons, Nicholas Robert and Jordan William; and daughter, Isabella Rose; all at home; a sister Heather Adams, Trucksville. BARLETTO - Peter, 86, of Tunkhannock, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Golden Liv- ing Center in Tunkhannock. He was born in Newark, N.J., on March 11, 1925, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran that served in World War II. He was employed by the General Motors Corpora- tion, from where he retired. After his retirement, he fur- thered his education at Penn State with classes in agriculture so he could start raising beef cat- tle on his farm in Lawton. Surviving are his sons, Steve, of Meshoppen,; and Peter, of New Jersey; a brother, Richard, of Nut- ley, N.J. CARICHNER - Matthew T., of Mile Road, Tunkhannock, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident earlier in the evening. He was born on November 26, 1987, and was a graduate of Tunk- hannock High School, class of 2007. He was a self-employed au- to mechanic and enjoyed work- ing with his father’s company, Mountainside Landscaping. Surviving are his father, Dean E. Carichner, of Tunkhannock; brothers, Joseph and Dana, of Tunkhannock; maternal grand- mother, Geraldine Farr Madill, of Tunkhannock; paternal grand- mother, Sarah Carichner, of Tunkhannock; aunts, uncles and cousins. CERQUOZZI -Henry Jr., 78, of Harveys Lake, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and John Gross, at Harveys Lake. He was born August 25, 1932, in Williamsport, graduated from Williamsport High School in 1951 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, joining his twin brothers aboard the USS JP Kennedy, during which time they were stationed in all the Mediterranean coun- tries. He later served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a stone mason and a truck driver. He at- tended Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, and Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. In addition to his daughter and son-in-law, he is survived by a granddaughter; brothers, John, Andrew and Antonio, all of Wil- liamsport; sisters, Marie Stuemp- fle, of Lancaster; and Esther Salmon, of Milford. COLAVITTI - Phyllis A., of Tunkhannock, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Tyler Hospital in Tunkhannock. She was born in Green Bay, Wis., on July 23, 1934. GRASSO - Angelo Paul, 86, of Dallas, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., October 25, 1924, and moved to the Wyoming Valley in 1927. He graduated as valedictorian from Forty Fort High School in 1943 and attended the Cybick School of Garment Cutting and Design- ing in New York City in 1944. He returned to the Wyoming Valley in 1945, enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force in January 1946 and completed his basic training at Keesler Field, Biloxi, Miss. He served as a control tower oper- ator at Nichols Field in Manila in the Philippines and achieved the rank of Corporal. He received the Asia-Pacific Campaign and World War II Vic- tory Medals. After his honorable discharge in March 1947, he again returned to the Wyoming Valley to supervise the cutting room of his family-owned busi- ness. He became a co-owner of Unit- ed Pants, a company that employ- ed more than 400 people at two locations in Swoyersville and Ply- mouth, and retired in 1987. He was a member of Holy Name Parish in Swoyersville for over 25 years and a member of Gate of Heaven Church in Dallas for more than 35 years. Surviving are his wife, the for- mer Mary Ann Zannitto, Dallas, with whom he celebrated his 63rd wedding anniversary in Sep- tember 2010; children, Marianne Hipona, Pacifica, Calif.; Angelo P. Jr., Swoyersville; and Linda Ben- nett, Lebanon; seven grandchil- dren; four great-grandchildren. GUSHANAS - George Thomas III, 25, of Route 118, Sweet Valley, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, in an automobile accident while in Florida. He was born September 6, 1985, in Wilkes-Barre. He was a 2004 graduate of Hanover Area Jr./Sr. High School where he studied college prep classes.
