ROSS TOWNSHIP LIBRARY DISPLAYS PRINTS Employees must pass physical every two years Supervisors passed a resolu- tion on Tuesday night which a will require employees to pass — a physical every two years. : | The resolution was de- signed to fill a loophole in the Pennsylvania vehicle code, which exempts local govern- ments from requiring a phys- ical exam every two years to maintain a Commercial Driv- ers License, or CDL. “We have seen issues devel- op at other places,” said Stan Davis, supervisor chairman. “It makes sense to do it. It pro- tects us and our employees.” The resolution upholds the required two-year exam for all employees employed as full- time equipment operators. It states any expense from the exam, which exceeds what is covered by the township’s em- ployee health insurance, will be reimbursed to the employ- ee after receipts and verifica- tion of the physical are pre- sented to township officials. Also, the resolution re- quires full-time equipment op- erators on sick leave of six days or more or hospitalized to provide documentation from their doctor to the town- ship roadmaster, stating the date they are released to re- turn to work and if any limita- tions are needed. - Eileen Godin The May exhibit at the Back Mountain Memorial Library's Art Display Wall was a collection of hard ground etchings, aqua tints and lino relief prints created by Herbert Simon, of Shavertown. Simon, a retired Professor of Sculpture and 3 Dimensional De- sign at Wilkes University, has been doing his etchings since 2003 when he enrolled in a print-making course at Wilkes University. He began concentrating on Intaglio (a specific form of printmak- ing) and has continued to enjoy this fascinating form of art. Si- mon's prints are also represented by The Old Print Shop, a New York City gallery located on Lexington Avenue. R.D. Clements Dentistry in Dallas is pleased to welcome Dr. Duane R. Sprau as the new associate to their staff. When Duane Sprau was 5 years old living on Church Street in Dallas, his family switched - dentists and became patients of Dr. Bob Clements. a He remembers that after that switch, his family thought going to the dentist was actually fun. A soccer player for Dallas High School with a proclivity for the sciences , Duane went off to Penn State Main Campus. But instead of studying the sciences, he went on to study finance. As it turned out, the sciences were really his love. After receiving a B.S in Finance, he re-enrolled at Penn State to fulfill science credits needed for dental school. In May of 2010, Duane obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. And now he’s back. Back to his home, The Back Mountain, and back practicing where “going to the dentist is actually fun.” WELCOME DR. DUANE R.
