Performed by five actors of the Gamut Theatre Group of Harris- burg, audience members will be able to experience an 80-minute version of Shakespeare’s original text. Hamlet is considered to be one of the most powerful and in- fluential plays in the English lan- guage. In this story, Hamlet, a prince, is distraught by the hasty marriage of his Uncle Claudius to his newly-widowed mother. in the Park The ghost of Hamlet's father vis- its his son, reveals that he was murdered by Claudius and en- treats Hamlet to set things right. Shaken, Hamlet devises a com- plex plan to prove Claudius’ guilt, but the choices he makes result in multiple tragedies. Shakespeare’s Hamlet con- templates the age-old question: “To be, or not to be?” and the play also examines the differ- ence between what an individu- al seems to be and what he or she really is.
