The theme for this year’s prom was “Bella Sera,” mean- ing “Beautiful Garden” in Spanish, said prom advisor Barb Richardson. Prom king and queen were Corey Ehret and Leah Zum- chak. The more than 350 attendees took home candy made by a group of students in support of battling childhood cancer. The back of the dress is as much a fashion statement as the front. To celebrate its Diamond Jubilee, the Gate of Heaven Parent-Teacher Group (PTG) will host its final open house and picnic from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 5 at the school gym. All “Gators” from the last six decades are invited to vis- it for a final tour of the school and share with the fel- lowship of current and former school friends, parents and alumni. Gators of all ages are en- couraged to bring along any pictures, stories or memora- bilia they would like to share. The Boy Scouts in the cur- rent Gate of Heaven Middle School will compile a com- memorative DVD documen- tary about the school and its impact on the Back Mountain community, which will be made available through local parishes and the mail.
