SPORTS BRIEFS Basketball clinic set The 2011 Holy Redeemer Boys Basketball Clinic for boys in fourth through ninth grades will be held June 23, 24 and 25 at Holy Redeemer High School gym, 159 S. Newell earns Steven Newell, a fourth-grade student at Dallas Elementary School, took fifth place at Mid- dle Atlantic Wrestling Associ- ations (MAWA) Eastern Na- tionals in Salisbury, Maryland. Newell had to place in the top four at a local qualifier in March and then place in the top three in a regional tourna- fifth place ment in Shamokin in April. He also qualified for finals PJWs (States) in March at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes Barre Township. To get to fi- nals PJWs, Newell needed ‘to place in a local qualifier held in Tunkhannock as well as a re- gional qualifier in William- sport.
