An encore performance will also be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19. This production is open to the public; donations will be taken at the door and all proceeds will benefit area charities. One of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies, “A Midsummer Night's Dream” may have been written as entertainment for a wedding, according to some Shakespeare scholars. The story describes the attractions, jealou- sies and eventual successful marriages of two sets of lovers, all complicated by the antics of a mischievous, magical fairy. As the couples chase each oth- er through an enchanted forest. g the king and queen of the fairi also play out an amusing story of love and one-upmanship, and a clumsy troupe of amateur ac- tors present a hilariously inept re-enactment of an ancient ’ myth.
