There will be door prizes, food and refreshments PEOPLE BRIEFS Trucksville man named dean Jay Harvey, of Trucks- ville, has been named Dean of the Wyoming Seminary Upper School. As Dean, Harvey will oversee all aspects of the Upper School’s academic and stu- dent life programs, college guidance program, registrar and faculty. Harvey joined Sem in 1984 as a math and computer teacher and coach at the Lower School. He has also served as an Upper School math and computer teacher, coach, Activities Director, dorm head and commencement coordinator. A 1980 Sem graduate, he holds a bachelor of science degree in math from Penn State University and a yy | master ‘of science degree in education from Wilkes University. Dallas student makes deans list Mia E. Esopi, of Dallas, a senior at Penn State’s University Park campus 23 Harvey ~ distinction, students must majoring in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences, was recently named to the Uni- versity Dean’s List for the fall 2010 semester. To achieve Dean’s List be full-time and earn at least a 3.5 out of a pos- sible 4.0 grade point aver- age. Esopi plans to attend veterinary school next fall. She is the daughter of E. Gene and Margaret Esopi. Burgerhoff completes training Army Pvt. William Bur- gerhoff has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courte- sy, military justice, phys- ical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed com- batand field maneuvers and tactics.
