This is the first championship for the Bobcats since the team was formed in 2006. The offense moved the ball up and down the field, scoring five touchdowns against a tough KT defense. The O-line, led by Evan May, Justus Shultz, Collin Mas- ters, Mason Rios, Randy Zacha- rias, John Brown, Cameron Bren- nan, Elijah Vigil and Mac Fogerty, paved the way for the running at- tack. Paul Ciaccia played a flawless game at quarterback while Justin (Willy) Mucha, Justin Butler, Joey Vigil, Corbin Holcomb and Kyle Katchko carried the ball for BMT. Mucha led the offensive at- tack with over 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Mucha and Vigil each added a 2-point conversion for the Bobcats. Mucha also completed a TD pass to Kyle with time running out in the first half. The defense held the high-scoring Raiders to minimal gains all game. The D-line was led by Ernie Bidding, Hank Zielenski, Bob Oakley, Eric George, Jacob (Smi- ley) Garnett, Zach (Stick) Had- dle, Shultz, Mastersand Vigil. The D’backs, led by Tye Valyo, Vigil, Ciaccia, Mucha, Butler and May, kept the Raiders “O” in check for most of the game. Shultz, Vigil and Oakley each had sacks for BMT. Vigil had a fumble recovery and Mucha had an interception that he ran back for the final TD of the game. D TEAM Exeter 22 Back Mountain 14 The Back Mountain Bobcats D- Team fell short in the Super Bowl, finishing on the short end of a 22-14 game against the Exe- ter Panthers. Ethan Adams scored both touchdowns for the Bobeats who ended their season with a record of 10 wins and two losses. This was the first time the Bob- cats D-Team played in the Super Bowl since the team was orga- nized five years ago. Brandon Harding, a Dallas High School swimmer, signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Division I Lehigh University where he will swim for Coach Rob Herb. He will be a student at the P.C. Rossin College of Engi- neering where he will major in Chemical Engineering. Harding is a member of the un- defeated and District II cham- pionship Mountaineer swim team. In three seasons, he is an eight-time district medalist, sil- ver medalist in the butterfly, gold medal winner in the medley re- lay, varsity letterman, holder of two school records, two-event state qualifier and was named the 2010 Most Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Keystone State Games.
