In the first quarter, the Raid- ers scored on a pass from quar- terback Ricky Morgan to Chris- tian Roberts who ran for a 60- yard touchdown. The second quarter was high- lighted by an interception by safety Matt Mathers which pre- vented the Bobcats from scor- ing. This and excellent defen- sive play from Devin Robbins, Carl Markowski, Josh Hold- redge and Andrew Grabowski held the Bobcats scoreless in the first half. During the third quarter, the Raiders recovered a Bobcat fumble which set up a 50-yard touchdown run by Christian Ro- berts behind key blocks from Moustfa and Abdul Almeky, Jay Culp, Nick Christman and Max Dzugan. Another interception by Matt Mathers set up a 40-yard touch- down run by Ricky Morgan in the fourth quarter behind a key down field block by Colin Pertl. In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats scored on a run by Nick Whitesell. C TEAM Kingston Township 32 Back Mountain 8 The Kingston Township Raid- ers improved to 7-1 on the sea- son with a 32-8 victory over a tough Back Mountain team. Kyle McAndrew, Mason Gat- tuso, Matt Maransky and Mi- chael Anderson all had touch- down runs for the Raiders. Con- versions were made by Derek Answini (2), Gattuso and Chris- tian Motley. Doing some solid blocking were Troy Turinski, Elliot Bow- den, Michael Starbuck and De- von Butwin. Defensively, KT was equally as impressive behind the ag- gressive attack of Michael Dog- gett, Josh Balara, Michael Christman and Jacob Sorber. Dallas 14 West Pittston 0 The Dallas Jr. Mounts C team remained undefeated with a 14-0 victory over the West Pitt- ston Rams last Sunday. Dallas was able to overcome an uncharacteristic four turn- overs and still hold the Rams scoreless. The defense was led by Hun- ter Love, Xander Shaner, Colin Zeiss, and Cole Dewees. Jack Gallis had a big interception. Steven Newell scored both touchdowns and Todd Phillips added a 2-point conversion. Guest eoach for this event was John Wingfield, head coach of the 2008 U.S. Olym- pic Diving Team and head coach of the USA Diving Na- tional Training Center. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association, an organization that provides early intervention services for children with special needs. The first portion of the event was a Meet and Greet Dinner at Genetti’s Confer- ence Center in Wilkes-Barre. Those in attendance heard presentations by Sharon Har- ry, executive director of WVCA, and Coach Wingfield who spoke about his role as the USA’s Olympic divige coach and how he prepa. his athletes for competition.
