Raiders capture rivalry trophy with 20-6 victory over Dallas The Kingston Township Raid- ers B team brought the B team rivalry trophy back home this year with a 20-6 win over a tough Dallas team. Quarterback Ricky Morgan scored the first touchdown on a 35-yard run behind key blocking om Carl Markowski, Josh Holdredge and Andrew Grabow- ski. KT converted the extra point on a pass from Devin Roberts to David Schuster. Christian “CR” Roberts scored on a 40-yard sideline run to make it 14-0 in the second quarter. In the third quarter, the Raid- ers defense scored when Ricky Morgan stripped a Dallas ball and ran 45 yards for the score. KT defense was lad by Matt Mathers, Jason Culp and Abdul Almeky and held Dallas to just six points in the fourth quarter. Nick Christman also recovered a Dallas fumble. Sarah Zerfoss and Michelle Thompson recently visited the Wyoming Valley Children Association's classrooms in Forty Fort. The girls are coordinating a diving clinic to benefit the association as their senior completion project. The offensive line, led by Jus- tus Shultz, Mac Fogerty, Evan May, Eric George, Cameron Brennan, Ernie Bidding, Eric Mates, Hank Zielenski and Ty Valyo, controlled the line of scrimmage by creating holes for the running backs. Justin Mucha led the team in rushing with three touchdowns and Joey Vigil had a great rush- ing attach as well as two touch- downs for the Bobcats. Kyle Katchko had the final touch- down for Back Mountain. Evan May, Paul Ciaccia and Joey Vigil each completed the two-point conversions. The Raiders’ defensive front, led by Josh Holdredge, Andrew Grabowski, Carl Markowski and Abdul Almeky, shut down the Tigers’ offense. Outstanding blocking by Christian Roberts, David Schus- ter, Moustafa Almeky and Nick Christman paved the way for two first-half touchdowns by Ricky Morgan. The extra points were scored on a pass from Devin Robbins to Matt Mathers to close out the half at 14-0. In the third quarter, a key in- terception by Max Dzugan set up a 60-yard touchdown run by Ricky Morgan, his third score of the day. Back Mountain 14 Dallas 0 On their first possession of the game, the Back Mountain Bobcats showed they came to the Bobcats’ 14-0 win over Dal- las. Stone Mannello ran the ball in for the completion of the two- point conversion. Dallas took possession but, despite great runs by Justin Hutchins, Xavier Barber and Jerry Orgurkis, was unable to score. Late in the second quarter, Nick Whitesell ran into the end- zone with a touchdown for the Bobcats. Bobcats Christopher Allen, Henry Selingo, Owen Morgan, Nate Hazeltine, Ian Evans and Zachary Gabel assist- ed the effort with great block- ing. The second half was score- less for both teams. Mason Gattuso ran for a score and returned a fumble for a touchdown to lead the Raiders. Derek Answini, Michael Dog- gett and Christian Motley re- corded the other scores. The five conversions were scored by Answini (2), Michael Starbuck, Michael Anderson and Kyle McAndrew. Opening huge holes all day were Scott McGlauglin, Troy Turinski and Elliot Bowden. Defensively, KT’s attack was led by Wyatt Vonderheid, Dylan Schuster, Jacob Sorber and Matt Maransky who were in the Ti- gers backfield all day. Dallas 38 Back Mountain 6 The Dallas Jr. Mounts C team improved to 3-0 last Sunday by beating the Back Mountain Bob- cats, 38-6. Jacob Esposito scored four touchdowns and Todd Phillips found the end zone to cap all scoring. Freddie Lombardo, Blaine Rex and Sean Cuba paved the way up front for the offense. The defense had another great performance. Jack Zeyher, Colin Zeiss, Jack Gallis and Eth- an Mooney came up with a plethora of great stops. D TEAM Back Mountain 26 Dallas 8 The Back Mountain Bobcats D team has improved its record to 3-0 with a 26-8 victory over the Dallas Junior Mounts. Matt Whitesell, Luke Spenser and Ethan Adams scored all the touchdowns for the Bobcats. The defense for the Bobcats was outstanding, allowing only one touchdown to be scored.
