BMT, Horlacher 8 & 9-year-old All- Stars battle; Horlacher wins ack Mountain American 8 & 9-year-old All-Stars won the Back Mountain Tournament championship with a 14-3 victory over Bob Horlacher. The team is comprised of 8 and 9-year-old players from the Dallas School District as well as Gate of Heaven, Wilkes-Barre BMT Stars win three tourney fitles Back Mountain American 8 & 9-year-old All-Stars completed post-season play with a 19-1 re- cord and three tournament championships. They captured the West Side Tournament championship with a 6-4 victory over Bob Horlacher, the Exeter Classic Tournament championship witha 104 victory over Back Mountain National and the Back Mountain Tourna- ment championship with a 14-3 win over Bob Horlacher. The teamis comprised of 8and 9-year-old players from the Dal- las School District aswell as Gate of Heaven, Wilkes-Barre Acade- my and Wyoming Seminary. SPORTS BRIEFS Female basketball players sought The Firm A.C. will have open workouts for any female basket- ball player entering ninth and 10th grades in the fall. Rock Rec plans boys cage league The Rock Recreation Center, 340 Carverton Rd., Trucksville will host a 7th and 8th Grade Fall Boys Basketball League for six weeks, Sept.18 - Oct. 23. The league fee is $150 plus $25 per game for referees and score- keeper. All games will be played between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Girls basketball tournament slated The double elimination Future Stars Basketball Tournament for seventh and eighth-grade girls will be held Sunday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 26, at the Kingston Recreation Center, 655 Third Ave. Players may sign up as individ uals and be placed on a team or they may sign up as a team.
