Howell, of Shaver- town, has been named to a three- year term on the Board of Trust- ees at Misericordia University. Howell is a 33-year veteran of the benefit and HR consulting in- dustry and founder, principal and chief operating officer of Howell Benefit Services, Inc., of Wilkes- Barre, a provider of employee benefits and administration. In 2007, he launched Howell DIRECT, a web-based product he invented, developed and intro- duced to the marketplace for businesses with less than 100 em- ployees. It was the first paperless solution in the United States to provide an online multi-carrier, group insurance procurement search engine, benefit enroll ment and management solution for small employers. He Prof takes part in NASA program Dr. Albert Lozano, of Shaver- town, Professor of Engineering at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, recently participated in the 2010 Senior De- sign Workshop hosted by NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Di- rectorate (ESMD). The workshop, fully funded by NASA through the National Space Grant Foundation, took place at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where ESMD is housed.
