The Barons represented Dis- trict 31. The Barons defeated District 28 (Exton area), 12-0, in the opening round. Hunter Englehart, Konrad Kraszewski and Justin Cornell combined for the two-hit shut- out. Englehart and Carson Bak- er had home runs and Bryan Mathers and Mark Malloy add- ed two hits and two RBI each. District 15 (Athens area) de- feated the Barons, 104, to send them into the elimination round. Carson Baker had three hits and Marc Noyalis had two District 28 defeated Barons, 8-7, to knock them out off the tournament. Englehart had two hits and Steve Olshemski added two RBIs. Joe Murray took the loss. The Barons qualified for the state tournament by defeating a combined team from West Side, Plymouth and Greater Wyom- ing Little League. Barons won the first game, 9-1, behind the pitching of Hun- ter Englehart who struck out 15 in six innings. Joe Murray had two hits and three RBIs. Steve Olshemski and Carson Baker had two hits and two RBIs each. Barons scored eight runs in the top of the first to cruise to a 17-7 five-inning win in the sec- ond game. Kyle Caffrey had a three-run triple in the first. Caffrey went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI, including a double and triple. TJ Stepanski had three hits with 2 RBI and a triple. Oshemski and Baker had three hits and two RBI. Justin Cornell got the win. The Barons finished the sea- loss. Barons defeated District 17 (North Pocono area), 11-5. Zack Dirsa got the win. TENNIS SKILLS CLINIC PLANNED y 3 Lindsey Kelly, left, and Melissa Tucker will hold a tennis skills clinic for girls ages 10-14 from 1to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug.8, at the Dallas Middle School tennis courts. The clinic is free and will teach basic tennis skills to girls in the elementary and middle school age group and is the high school comple- tion project for the girls. Kelly and Tucker are members of the Dallas High School tennis team and will be assisted by the coach of the women's tennis team. Registration is not neces- sary. Two take part In Keystones Chris Tamanini and Bran- don Harding, both seniors at Dallas High School and school swim record holders, partici- pated in the recently-held Keystone State Games in York. Tamanini captured silver medals in the 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 back- stroke and the 200 freestyle while receiving the gold med- al in the 100 butterfly. Harding captured the gold medal in the 200-yard individ- ual medley, a silver medal in the 100-yard breaststroke, a silver medal in the 100-yard butterfly and the bronze med- al in the 50-yard freestyle.
