Students were given a daily les- . son by Deacon Tom Cesarini Catholic about important prayers. Other activities included cho- ral rehearsals and games de- signed to reinforce concepts learned in the daily lessons as well as note-reading skills. The campers were treated to a pizza party on the last day of camp and an ice cream social sponsored by the Altar & Rosary Society following the concluding liturgy. Students attending the camp were from a variety of local churches, including Gate of Heaven, Dallas; Holy Name/St. Mary, Swoyersville; St. Faustina, Nanticoke; St. Ignatius, King- ston; and St. Therese, Shaver- town. OBITUARIES CRANE - Robert Calvin, 48, of Trucksville, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Veterans Memo- rial Hospital. Born on November 9, 1961 in Kingston, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. He was employed as a correction- al officer at Luzerne County Cor- rections and retired after 17 years. Be- fore retiring, he was self-employ- ed as a heavy equipment oper- ator. He had resided in Grantsville, Md., most of his life where he was a member of the Lions Club and the VFW.
