Prepping for the library auction The Back Mountain Memorial Library Auction season kicked off on June 7 at Appletree Terrace at New- erry Estates when the annual kickoff dinner was held. The 64th Annual Back Mountain Memorial Library Auction will be held on July 8, 9, 10 and 11 on the library grounds on Huntsville Road, Dallas. Auction-goers may park on the Dallas Highway next to Senator Lisa Baker’s office and hop a free shuttle bus to the grounds. PEOPLE BRIEFS Two named to dean's list at Widener Shauna Phillips and Amy Vodzak, both of Dallas, have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2010 semester at Widener University in Chester. The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who earned a grade point average of 3.50 and above for the semester. Phillips is a psychology major and Vodzak is a manage- ment major. Scherer, of Dallas; was among the 57 stu- dents who received awards from The Uni- versity of Scranton during its undergradu- ate Class Night ceremony. Scherer is the recipient of the Outstanding Associate Scherer Degree Award. She received an associate in science in counsel- ing and human services. Scherer was employed in health care for 15 years before working at The University of Scranton where she is current- ly office manager in the Office of Planning and Information Resources.
