Cragle, Sweet Valley, University Park, CHURCH Continued from Page 1 las has been purchased for $60,000 and the yellow building on Machell Avenue in Dallas, now housing the “Gate House Pre-School,” have been pur- chased from Gate of Heaven School by the parish for $84,000. The Gate House Pre- School relocated to the main school building last year. The parish is currently nego- tiating a contract to have both houses (the King Street and Ma- chell Avenue houses) demol- ished as they are “unhealthy, non-functional and environmen- tally unsound.” Although no specific plans have been announced for these two properties, the church felt it was in its best interests to buy them now “due to their adjacent location” for any future plans, the church bulletin said. The church had previously considered a building expansion in 2002 when architectural drawings of a renovated church worship area were presented to the parish body. At that time, the parish felt it could not afford a large building addition and the Diocese of Scranton indicated it would have to have as much as 50 per- cent of the monies committed to begin any building project. After a survey sent to members indi- cated a lack of support, the pro- ject was abandoned, although the current church worship area has been renovated. WATER Continued from Page 1 how the COG that did the water study secured funding. In other news, Kathy Sebas- tian, manager of Kingston Township, suggested the BMCP collectively buy two items. The first item Sebastian rec- ommended be purchased is a photo identification card maker, although she did not know how much the photo ID maker would cost. The second item Sebastian mentioned is a roadside radar machine that measures the speed of cars and provides a computerized printout of the data, indicating the machine would cost $5,600. Sebastian noted the device is not used to catch speeders but to provide in- formation about the amount of cars that traveled on a particular road and the speed at which they traveled. Dallas Borough Mayor Tim- othy Carroll said he thought the radar machine was a good idea and would take the idea back to his town’s council. BS Also, Jeffrey A.
