Beaumont resident, author and antique shop owner Charlee Ganny was the featured guest speaker. Ganny, who also writes under the pen names of Lucy Finn and Savannah Russe, captivated her audience as she shared the highlights of the twists and turns her life has taken before she found her way back to her love of writing. OBITUARIES ATHERHOLT - Asa Munson, III, 52, of Centermoreland, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at Mercy Hospice, Scranton. Born on February 16, 1958 in West Wyoming, he graduated from West Side Tech High School in 1976 and served in the U.S. Ar- my Reserve for 22 years, attain- ing the rank of Sergeant First class. He was the owner-operator of AM.A. Trucking, a business he managed for 10 years. Surviving are his mother, Mary Elizabeth Crich Atherholt; his wife of 32 years, Grace Green Atherholt; a daughter, Jennifer Atherholt Alvarex, Washington, D.C.; two sons, Asa M. IV, South: Montrose; and Francis Charles, Falls; four grandchildren; three sisters, Elaine Atherholt, Susan Benya, Philadelphia; and Jacque- line Hoffman, Benton; four broth- ers, Steven, Largo, Fla.; Allen, Clarks Summit; Byron, West Wyoming; and Lawrence, Dallas; several nieces and nephews. HARTMAN - William A., 84, of Sorbertown Hill, Hunlock Creek, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Town- ship. Born on Oct. 10, 1925 in Trucksville, he was employed many years for Allan Industries, Wilkes-Barre. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having re- ceived a Bronze Star. Surviving are his wife, the for- mer Frances Zalesny; daughter, Kathy Meckley, Hanover; son, William J., Baileys Harbor, Wis.; and brothers, Donald, West Vir- ginia; and Thomas, California. LUCARINO - Lawrence C. Jr., of Harveys Lake, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at home. Born June 11, 1948 in Wilkes- Barre, he was a graduate of GAR High School, class of 1966. He served in the 109th Field Ar- tillery C Battery and was former- ly employed by Procter and Gam- ble, Mehoopany, for many years prior to retirement. He was a past president of the Harveys Lake Borough Council and a commander for the last 10 years of the American Legion Post 967, Harveys Lake. He was also a member of the Nanticoke Conservation Club. Born in Washington, D.C. on November" 14, 1957, she spent seven years working as the mar- keting director for Friedman Electric, Exeter. Most recently, she had been training to become a blackjack dealer at the Mohe- gan Sun Casino, Plains Town- ship. Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Robert Prescott; two daughters, Heather, Fullerton, Calif; and Shannon, Kingston; three brothers, Ronnie, Jimmy and Wally. TADDEI - Nicholas M. Jr., 82, of Carverton Heights, died Mon- day, May 10, 2010 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in the Hilldale section of Plains Township on Aug. 8, 1927, he was a graduate of Wyoming Memorial High School, class of 1946, and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a tractor-trailer driver for numerous trucking firms and retired from Direct Transit in 1989. He continued driving until 2007 at the age of 79, finishing up his career at Genmark, of Exeter.
