Council member Carole Samson said police officer Charles Musial received the Police Office of the Year Award from the Dallas Ro- tary at the Third Annual First Responders Award Dinner at Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estates, Dallas. Musial was nominated by Lehman Town- ship and Idetown Volunteer Fire Companies for outstanding dedication, professionalism and commitment. Council also expressed its gratitude to borough employees who helped with the Spring Clean Up held on May 15. The event is held every year and resi- dents are invited to dispose of unwanted items for a fee charged per truckload. Council member Boyd Barber said about 41 people participa- ted in the event and “everything moved very timely.” In other news * The 2010 Kids Fishing Der- by, hosted by the Son of the American Legion Post 967, will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.
