BISHOP JOSEPH BAMBERA © Programs slated at Frances Slocum Park Several programs are sched- uled to be held at Frances Slocum State Park. “Raccoons for Kids” will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, for children between the ages of 3 and 5. Little ones and their grown-ups will learn about these masked mammals through hands-on activities, story and crafts. Participants should meet at the campground amphitheater. “Mammal Mystery” will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, for youths between the ages of 6 and 12. Young people are in- vited to participate in this animal “who’s who” as tracks, scat and furs are investigated. Participants should meet at the campground amphitheater. A family nature hike will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 29. The group will follow the trail through the woods and along the lake, then walk the paved road back to the starting point. Participants should meet at the boat rental. “Live Birds of Prey” program will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 29. Officials from the Dela- ware Valley Raptor Center will bring beautiful hawks and owls. Participants should meet at the campground amphitheater. “Pipeline Promenade” will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 30. Start off the day with a leisure- ly walk along the edge of the woods as the group follows the gas pipeline path. Participants should meet at the campground amphitheater. “Feathered Friends for Pre- schoolers” will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, for children between the ages of 3 and 5. The group will learn abut birds through story, craft and song and see if any are hiding in the trees. Participants should meet at the campground amphitheater.
