The Scouts were “warned” that a winter storm was ap- proaching so they established an emergency shelter and campfire. Additionally, they had to be pre- pared with items needed for camping and emergencies and were asked specific questions re- lated to scouting and survival skills. Dallas Post Office to host fair for National Passport Day A passport fair will be held on Saturday, March 27, Na- tional Passport Day, at the @-1:=s Post Office, 495 Me- morial Hwy., Dallas. Passport customer service hours at the office will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pass- port applications will be proc- essed in the main window section. No appointment is necessary during the pass- port fair. Normally, it costs $100 for adults (16 and over), with separate payments of $75 paid to the U.S. State Depart- ment for the passport applica- tion fee and $25 to the Postal Service for its processing fee. For persons under 16, the cost is $85, with separate pay- ments of $60 and $25, respec- tively. For expedited passport service, add $60 for each ap- plication. Applicants should bring proper proof of American ci- tizenship or naturalization, one officially acceptable state or government photo ID and two identical photos. Customers can also apply for a passport card, which ex- pedites document processing when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. It cannot be used for air travel. The cost for a passport card is $45 for adults and $35 for children. For those already getting a passport, the cost for the card is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Boscov's prepares for Federation Boscov's in downtown Wilkes-Barre will be bustling with activity from 11a.m.to5 | p.m. today, March 14, as the General Federation of Wom- en’s Clubs of Luzerne County hold their 29th annual Feder- ation Day. Federation Day is a chance for the women’s clubs of Lu- zerne County to come togeth- er and raise funds for a cho- sen charity. To date, Federa- tion Day has raised almost $379,000 for various charities in Luzerne County. This year, Wyoming Valley Children’s Association has been chosen to be the recip- ient of proceeds.
