Sunny Stirewalt, of Shaver- town, will play at the University of Pennsylvania; Sierra Segear, of Wilkes-Barre, will attend Lehigh University; Madeleine Hackett, of Shavertown, will attend Bos- ton University; and Kelsey Gross- man, of Shavertown, will attend Brown University. KELSEY GROSSMAN Grossman, of Shavertown, will attend Brown University in Provi- dence, Rhode Island in the fall. A three-year varsity letter win- ner and starter at forward for the Blue Knights, Grossman was a member of the 2008 state cham- pionship team. She was named to the Academic All-State Team in 2009 and has participated in Fu- ures, the National Festival and he Pocono and KaPow indoor field hockey teams. She helped lead the Blue Knights to a 23-1 re- cord in 2008 and a 20-1 record in 2009. Grossman is a four-sport ath- lete, earning varsity lettersin field hockey, lacrosse, soccer and div- ing. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Loren Grossman of Shaver- town. MADELEINE HACKETT Hackett will continue her aca- Bl SE demic and athletic career at Bos- ton University in Boston, Massa- chusetts in the fall. A four-year varsity letter win- ner and starter at forward and midfield for the Blue Knights, Hackett was a member of the 2006 and 2008 state champion- ship teams. She has been named to the First Team All-State in her junior and senior years and the Second Team All-State as a soph- omore. A member of the Citizens’ Voice and Times Leader All-Star teams for 2009, she is a five-year veteran of National Festival play. She was selected as a Futures Elite for four years and as a Na- tional Futures Champion for three years, as well as a National Festival Champion in 2006 and 2008. A team captain as a senior, she helped lead the Blue Knights to a 23-1 record in 2008 and a 20-1 re- cord in 2009. Her career records at Sem are 22 goals and 22 assists. Hackett is a three-sport athlete, earning four-year varsity letters in field hockey, three letters to date in lacrosse and one letter in swim- ming, and serving as captain for all three teams. She is the daughter of Ramah and Christopher Hackett of Sha- vertown. SIERRA SEGEAR Segear will continue her aca- demic and athletic career at Le- high University in Bethlehem in the fall. A four-year varsity letter win- ner and three-year starter in goal for the Blue Knights, Segear was a member of the 2006 and 2008 state championship teams. Segear is a two-sport athlete, earning varsity letters in field hockey and soccer and leading both teams: as Scaptain As a center defender in soccer, she received the MVP award for the 2009 sea- son. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Segear of Wilkes-Barre, she is interested in majoring in biomedical engineering or envi- ronmental sciences.
