AI TIETESS 8 LORAINE By EILEEN GODIN Dallas Post Correspondent Closing out a new year, council members passed a new budget and awarded four members for their many years of service to the borough. On Tuesday night, the $1,003,650 budget was read through by borough Attorney Charles D. McCormick. Council approved the budget which will carry over the same mill rate of .604 and the $5 per capita tax, one percent real estate and earned income taxes. A mill is $1 for every $1,000 assessed tax value. McCormick said the new budget will be available for public review in the office of the municipal building. A new year also means a new borough council to take seat in January as four long-standing council members will be stepping down. McCormick honored those leaving by present- ing them with wooden clocks with brass plaques, noting the time served to the lake community.
