Born in Trucksville, she was a graduate of Kingston Township High School, Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and attended College Misericordia. She was the first full-time public school nurse in the Back Moun- tain, serving both Kingston Township and Dallas Borough schools. She was a member of various nursing organizations, active in the Girl Scouts, and, during World War II, taught home nurs- ing to the Armed Forces Auxilia- ry in Oklahoma, Kansas and Tex- as. She was a member of Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas, and its Women’s Organization. Surviving are nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Born in Larksville on Dec. 3, 1925, he raised his family in Dal- las for 30 yeas and was a member of the Gate of Heaven Church in Dallas. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Germany, and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 672 in Dallas. He was employed by Owens-Illinois Inc. Kimbal Division and worked in the area of quality control. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, MaryAnn Chorey, of North Bend, Ore.; son, Nick, of Dallas; daughter, Cathy, of North Bend, Ore.; and two grandchildren. He received his master’s de- gree in mathematics at Bucknell University and pursued his doc- torate in mathematics, with a special interest in topology, at Penn State Main Campus. He served in the US. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a Professor Emeritus at Wilkes University. Prior to his retirement, he was a professor of mathematics at Wilkes College for many years. Before Wilkes, he began his teaching career at Forty Fort High School and, later, Bucknell University. Surviving are his daughters, Lee Ann Earl-Sedor, Wyoming; Candy Scheatzle, Swoyersville; Cathy, Kingston; son, Joseph, of Harding; brother, Paul Earl, Hamburg, N.Y.; and four grand- children. Born on February 23, 1916, in Idetown, she was employed as a cook in the Northwest Area School District cafeteria, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Shick- shinny, and sang in the church choir. She was also a member for more than 50 years and past wor- thy matron of the Shick-Shawnee Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a past grand wor- thy matron, Order of the Eastern Star.
