Brace is a Dean’s List student ~ whose artistic interests include: _ writing poetry, short stories, _ and poetic drama; photography; sewing; and make-up design. ©" Brace also self-published a novel at age 14 and hopes to pub- lish more novels with a tradi- - tional publishing house. She won the poetry contest at the Fine Arts Fiesta during her freshman and sophomore years in high school. A native of Hunlock Creek, Brace plans to major in English and is also a member of the Lazy Artists Society at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. WEBELOS COMPLETE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT The fourth-grade Webelos from Pack 281 recently completed a community service project in | pursuit of their Citizenship Activity Pin. Webelos 4-1and Webelos 4-2 canvassed Midway Manor in Shavertown, distributing flyers, asking for donations. The residents answered the call as the We- belos returned on November 7 and collected over 400 pounds of food which was delivered to Mark Stull of the Back Mountain Food Pantry at the Trucksville United Methodist Church. DALLAS STUDENTS PARTNER WITH NASA Members of the eighth-grade gifted science class at the Dallas Middle School are participating in the NASA Endeavour Program. This program is a one-year program that involves students | working as a team to collaborate with NASA scientists, technicians and engineers. During the | course of the program, students will have the opportunity to learn and utilize NASA engineering | models to solve actual NASA problems.
