WYOMING VALLEY JUNIOR FOOTBALL CONFERENCE Dylan Pilger leads Back Mountain Bobcats to fourth straight victory The Back Mountain Bobcats won their fourth straight game, grabbing a 30-0 shutout over the Duryea Wildcats. The Bobcats offense had an impressive showing with over 200 yards rushing. . Dylan Pilger led the team with wo rushing touchdowns while Villy Mucha and Brian Durling ach added a touchdown. Mu- cha, Justin Butler and Angelo Baltier each added a two-point conversion. Great blocking of the offensive line made these incredible plays possible. The O-line was led by Cody Long, CJ McCauley, Justus Schultz, PF Konnick, Matt Dur- ling, Evan May, Elija Vigil, Joey Vigil and Adam Simmonette. . The defense held the Wildcats to a scoreless game. The defense was led by PJ Konnick, Austin Parry, Randy Zacharais, Elija Vigil, Brian Durling, CJ McCau- ley, Tyler Brobst, Paul Ciaccia, Evan May, Justin Butler, Angelo Baltier, Willy Mucha and Dylan Pilger. Kingston Township 38 West Pittston 0 The Kingston Township Raid- ers moved to a perfect 5-0 record with a convincing 38-0 win over West Pittston. JT Carey returned his fourth interception for a touchdown and Corey Patrick returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score, seal- ing the victory. A strong effort from the line- backing group consisting of Mi- chael Olenginski, Cody Stem- rich, JT Carey, and Edmund Meszycynski kept the Rams’ of- fense neutralized. Matt Ross and Kyle Kotulski spent most of the day in the Rams’ backfield, un- raveling the offense before plays developed. B TEAM Duryea 28 Back Mountain 0 The Bobcats suffered another loss, this time a 28-0 defeat by the Duryea Wildcats. The offense was led by Adam Rosencrance, Connor Kerkow- ski, Artie Coolbaugh, AJ Spears and Owen Morgan. Great runs were made by Stone Mannello, Corbin Holcomb, Jack Tompko, Cameron Brennan and RJ Dris- coll. The defense was led by Zack Haddle, Erik Sweppenheiser, Zack Gabel, Eric George, Antho- ny Grandinetti, Marcus Steele and Tom Piatt. Kingston Township 26 West Pittston 0 The Kingston Township Raid- ers improved to 4-1 with a 26-0 victory over the West Pittston Rams. The Raiders defense held a ve- ry good Rams offense in check behind a solid defensive line led by David Edwards, Jason Culp, Mitch Kelly and Michael Golden. The secondary was led by Pe- ter Capitano who had two inter- ceptions, one for a 55-yard touch- down return. There was solid pass coverage the entire after- noon, based upon the cornerback play of Nick and Matthew Math- ers, along with Christian Ro- berts. Middle linebacker Kyle Pisko- rik played the position tough all day, not allowing a rushing play up the middle for more than three yards. The defensive unit for the Raiders has been playing well all season, allowing eight points through five games. The Raiders offense was led by quarterback Ryan Martin who completed multiple passes to Tanner Gattuso and Peter Cap- itano. The pass completed to Gattuso was a spectacular leap- ing grab of over 25 yards. The pass completed to Capitano went for 55 yards but ended one yard short of a touchdown. Ricky Morgan came in to play quarterback and had three out- standing power runs of 10, 15 and 25 yards. The Raiders enjoyed a successful rushing game behind the blocking of Abdul Almecky, Dalton Gattuso, Bret Storrs and Mitch Kelly. The Raiders at- tacked by pass and run. The offensive line created plenty of running room for Con- ner Motley and Bret Storrs. Mot- ley scored on two separate rush- ing touchdown runs of 35 and 15 yards with a third called back. In the fourth quarter, Bret Storrs scored another rushing touch- down to seal the win. C TEAM Duryea 12 Back Mountain 8 The Bobcats hung tough against the Wildcats of Duryea but suffered a 12-8 loss. Nate LaBar led the team with the only rushing touchdown and Nate Hazeltine scored the two- point conversion. The offensive line created holes for the running backs of Nicholas Whitesell, Nate O'Donnell, Nate LaBar and Nate Hazeltine. The offensive line was led by Joseph Deyo, Ian Evans, Dakato Heinrich, Zach Hill and Hunter Landon. The defensive line was led by Huey Quinten, Gage Mitchell, Cole Robbins, Matt Schnable, Cole Wyffels, Zack Bloo and Josh Durling. Kingston Township Raiders 14 West Pittston Rams 0 Kingston Township got back to its winning ways with a 14-0 victory over the West Pittston Rams to improve its record to See PILGER, Page 12 4-1. The Raiders defense was stel- lar all day behind the play of Ma- son Gattuso, Dominic Angelico- la, Josh Holdredge and Michael Doggett. The offense for KT was effec- tive as well behind the running of David Schuster and Devin Rob- bins who each scored touch- downs. Opening holes for the Raiders runners were Nate Ma- ransky, Caleb Hill, Carl Markow- ski, Michael Luksic and Justin Brown. Dallas 34 Swoyersville 6 The Dallas Jr. Mounts beat the Swoyersville Sailors, 34-6, last Sunday. The defense, which gave up itsonly score on the last play of the game, was anchored by Austin Goldsmith, Colin Demp- sey, Cole Dewees, and Blaine Rex.
