Having been depleted over the summer months, BMT Food Pantry is in need of donations During the summer months, when children are home from school with no school breakfast and lunch program to help them, the Back Mountain Food Pantry receives many additional re- quests for food for children to meet their needs until they re- turn to school. Therefore, supplies are very low as the fall season begins. The elderly also rely on the pantry for assistance and soon their needs will increase as they try to heat their homes and buy their med- icine. Donations have been down over the summer months even though the demand has substan- tially increased. Donations are urgently need- ed. Food may be dropped off at Cook’s Pharmacy, Route 309 in Shavertown and Hilbert’s Tractor Store, Route 415 in Dallas during regular business hours. Donors are asked to consider donating the following items: breakfast foods of any kind, pea- nut butter and jelly, pancake mix- es and syrup, flour, soups, instant potatoes, stews, Spam, tuna fish, canned fruits and vegetables and boxed or canned pasta.
