The Bobcats’ offensive line, led by Cody Long, Evan May, Adam Simmonette, Joey Vigil, Elijia Vigil, Matt Druling and Pete Kon- nick, did an outstanding job opening holes for the running backs. The back field, led by Jus- tin Butler, Dylan Pilger, Willy Mucha, Randy Zacharias, Brian Durling, Paul Ciaccia and Angelo Baltier scored five touchdowns and four two-point conversions. Dylan Pilger led the team in rushing and had one touchdown and two two-point conversions. Willy Mucha and Justin Butler followed with two rushing touch- downs and two two-point conver- sions. The defense, led by PJ Kon- nick, Austin Parry, Chris McCau- ley, Randy Zacharias, Elijia Vir- gil, Brian Durling, Paul Ciaccia, Angelo Baltier, Justin Bulter, Dy- lan Pilger and Willy Mucha, turn- ed in a flawless performance. CJ McCauley and Angelo Bal- tier each recovered a fumble and Angelo Baltier added an intercep- tion for the Bobcats. Kingston Township 44 Swoyersville 0 The Kingston Township Raid- ers A team improved their record to 20 as they defeated the Swoyersville Sailors, 44-0. Matt Karuza and Shawn Spen- cer penetrated the backfield with an unrelenting pass rush, forcing the Swoyersville quarterback to throw two interceptions which were returned for touchdowns by JT Carey and Omar Nijmeh. Kyle Kotulski and Cody Stem- rich combined for 95 yards rush- ing behind the key blocking of Corey Stegman who also contrib- uted with six solo tackles and a sack. Matt Ross and Edmund Mesc- zyinski kept pressure on the quar- terback, neutralizing the Swoyersville passing assault. B TEAM West Pittston 12 Back Mountain 6 Despite putting up a gallant fight, the Bobcats suffered their second loss of the season. The Bobcats’ offense of Owen Morgan, Bob Oakley, Eric Ge- orge, AJ Spears and Connor Ker- kowski made great plays. Stellar defensive performances were turned in by Eric George, Devin Dickson, Cameron Brennan, Bob Oakley and Jack Tomko. Standing strong defensively in the second quarter for the Bob- cats were Zack Gabel, Artie Cool- baugh, Devin Dickson, Anthony Grandinetti, Adam Rosencrance, Erik Sweppensheiser and Tom Piatt. After half-time, carries by Cameron Brennon and RJ Dris- coll allowed Stone Mannello to score a 55-yard touchdown on a quarterback sweep. The two- point conversation attempt was unsuccessful and the Rams scored again to end the game. Kingston Township 38 Swoyersville 0 The Kingston Township Raid- ers B Team defeated the Swoyers- ville Sailors, 380, in their first home game of the season, giving them their second consecutive shutout. The defensive effort was led by Ricky Morgan with two intercep- tions, one going 40 yards for a touchdown. Nicholas Mathers and Peter Capitano added two more. The defensive line kept the Sailors’ running game in check for most of the afternoon. This ef- fort was led by Conner Motley and Jason Culp. There was solid linebacker play from Kyle Pisko- rik and Brett Storrs while Mat- thew Mathers and Christian Ro- berts were solid at corner all af- ternoon. Several players factored into the Raiders’ scoring. Brett Storrs had a 45-yard touchdown run against a stubborn Sailors’ de- fense. Ryan Martin scored on a quarterback keeper. Michael Golden had a blast up the middle for a touchdown. Peter Capitano had a 30-yard run for a score. Mitch Kelly topped things off er. There was solid blocking all af ternoon led by Abdul Almecky, David Edwards and Michael Golden. C TEAM Back Mountain 12 West Pittston 0 The Bobcats got their first vic- tory of the season with a 12-0 de- feat of the West Pittston Rams. . The Bobcats’ defense came out strong, keeping the first half scoreless. During the first half, Zach Hill recovered a fumble for the Bobcats while Huey Quentin, Gage Mitchell, Cole Robbins, Cole Wyfells and Hunter Landon turned in stellar defensive per- formances. Nick Whitesell scored first for the Bobcats early in the second half. The two-point attempt was unsuccessful but the Bobcats were up, 6-0. The offensive efforts of Bradley Stone Mannello (No. 4) breaks a tackle to score for the Back Mountain Bobcats in B team action. Adams, Zach Bloom. Joseph Deyo, Josh Durling, Ian Evans and Nate Hazeltine, coupled with fourth-quarter carries by backs Nat O'Donnell and Nate Labar, with a 10-yard quarterback keep led to fourth quarter for the Bobcats, assuring the Back Mountain vic- tory. Injured player Ryan Wolken served as water boy for his team- mates. Dallas 16 Plymouth 8 Josh Lydon and Todd Phillips each scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion against Ply- mouth as the Jr. Mounts defeated the Shawnee Indians, 16-8. Ethan Mooney, Joe Brennan and Mi- chael Huntington provided ar- mored support for the ball con- trol running game. Colin Dempsey, Austin Gold- smith and Blaine Rex anchored the defense. Dalton Simpson and Ethan Zawatski made big plays on both sides of the ball. Dallas 20 Kingston 6 The Dallas Jr. Mounts grabbed an opening weekend 20-6 win kis, Sean Hent over the Kingston Huskies. Jay Bittner sprinted for three touchdowns and Joshua Lydon added a two-point conversion to lead the Jr. Mounts. Jerry Ogur- yinger ‘and Jake Weiland led thewoffensive charge by creating plenty of running room all day. The defense put in a strong ef- fort led by the play of Drew Pat- ton, Connor Maloney and Steven Newell who all registered tackles for a loss. Kingston Township 22 Swoyersville 0 The Kingston Township Raid- ers C team improved to 2-0 on the season with a convincing 22-0 victory over the Swoyersville Sailors. The Raiders got touchdown runs from Devin Robbins, David Schuster and Michael Doggett. Christian Motley had a conver- sion run as well. Leading the way up front with some strong blocking were Carl Markowski, Moustafa Almeky and Max Dzugan. Defensively, KT was just as strong behind the solid tackling and pressure of Kyle McAndrew, Connor Mark- ham, Justin Finarelli and Chris Carver. Derek Answini had an inter- ception, a fumble recovery and a two-point conversion for the vic- tors. D TEAM Dallas 30 Plymouth 8 The Dallas Jr. Mounts played a tough game against the Ply- mouth Indians last week, taking home a 30-8 victory. Dallas took an early lead on a touchdown run by Freddie Lom- bardo after key blocks by Josh Pe- ters and Christian Sebastianelli sprung Lombardo free for a 60- yard run around the right end. Plymouth came right back with a 12-play touchdown drive of its own. The Dallas defense, led by Ethan Sult, Ryan Maloney and Jared Adamski, then took over, shutting down the Indians for the balance of the game. The Dallas offense would add two more scores by Hunter Love and Jack Gallis. Kingston Township 24 Swoyersville 8 The Raiders beat the Swoyers- ville Sailors, 24-8. Swoyersville struck first with a potent passing game; however, with strong performances from Jason Puza, Blake Perrego and Scott McClaughlin, the Raiders held off a strong second-half drive. Offensively, the Raiders’ line held tough behind great blocking by Jackson Wydra, Andrew Grys- kevicz, Jacob Sorber who gave the running backs some breath- ing room and made scoring pos- sible. Back Mountain 20 West Pittston 6 The Back Mountain Bobcats were victorious over the West Pittston Rams, 20-6. Bobcat touchdowns were scored by Daniel Meuser and Le- onard Kelly while centers Kyle Sweppenheiser and Gavin Wol- ken did a great job snapping the ball for the quarterback. A member of the Lehman Golf Club and the Wyoming Valley Country Club, Makowski is an eighth-grade student at Gate of Heaven School.
