Supervisors were given the green light to accept bids for a mile and a half of resurfacing and work to two road shoulders on Niemchik Road. The work will be paid out of $280,000 the town- ship has received from the feder- ally funded Community Devel- opment Grant program. Chairman Stanford Davis said five sealed bids were received. They were HRI Construction, Bloomsburg, $235,974; Popple Construction, Laflin, $220,818; Slusser Brothers, Pittston, $218,884.70; American Asphalt, Shavertown, $217,338; and Pikes Creek, Sweet Valley, $198,246.40. Bids for the second project for 1,000 feet of paving repairs on Skurat Road were opened. Bids received were from: HRI, Bloomsburg, $39,858; America Asphalt, Shavertown, $35,822.50; Slusser Brothers, Pittston, $34,710; Popple Con- struction, Laflin, $31,372.50; and Pikes Creek, Sweet Valley, $30,927.50.
