Sunday School Bike Parade set for Aug. 30 The annual Sunday School Bike Parade will be held at 9 a.m. today, Aug. 30, at the Lehman-Idetown United Meth- odist Church. The group “4Given” will perform at 9:30 a.m. and the morning worship service will be at 10 a.m. There will be a free lunch and games after the worship service. There will also be prize give-aways and other prizes. Donna Cottle underwent a brain biopsy procedure July 6 at the University of Pennsylva- nia Medical Center, Philadel- phia and was diagnosed with a stage three malignant brain tumor. Following complica- tions after the biopsy, she was a patient at the John Heinz Rehabilitation Center in Wilkes-Barre and is now a patient at River Street Manor, Wilkes-Barre. She will soon begin radiation and chemother- apy treatment. Ham dinner slated A ham dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Alderson Unit- ed Methodist Church, Pole 108, - Lakeside Drive, Harveys Lake. q The dinner includes baked ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, rolls and butter, beverage and cake. SCHOOL BRIEFS DHS Lock-In Committee will meet The Dallas High School 2010 Graduation Lock-In Committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, in the high school li- brary. DHS Grad Lock-In is an alcohol-free, drug-free, fully chaperoned, all-night party for the graduating class. This year’s event will be the 11th Lock-In and will be held following the 2010 commencement ceremony. Undergraduate parents, as well as senior parents, are encouraged to attend the meeting. Lock-In fundraiser set for Sept. 18 The Dallas High School Senior Lock-In 2010 will hold fundraiser from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, at Barnes & Noble, Arena Hub Plaza, Wilkes- Barre Township. Vouchers will be avail- able from Dallas senior students and at the door. A percentage of the sales in the bookstore and cof- fee shop will go toward the Lock-In.
