He also took a tour side Farms which he loved be- cause he wants be a veterinarian. Ty enjoyed her time in the Back Mountain, especially doing things outside because, at home, she spends most of the summer inside. She described the Back Mountain Memorial Library as being “huge” and felt the pool at “regular pool” because it had slides. “I think it’s fun; it’s really, really fun,” Ty said of her visit. Carr noted in her manager’s report that 89 children are regis- tered for the program this year, with an average of 32 to 35 chil- dren attending every day. Carr said the average age of the chil- drenis 7 to 10 years old, whichis younger than in previous years. According to Carr, 175 chil- dren were registered for the pro- gram in 2008. This year’s de- cline is because children from Dallas Township were turned away from the program. Carr reported that she and Frank Wagner, a supervisor from the township, are looking at budget numbers from the past three years to come up with a proposal for a joint effort between the borough and the township for next year’s sum- mer recreation program. Harvest Festival Council approved terms of agreement between the Check- erboard Inn and the Dallas Har- vest Festival Committee to pro- vide the Sixth Annual Dallas Days Dance on Friday, Sept. 11. An -agreement was also ap- proved between the borough Main St., to use the bank’s park- ing lot for the Dallas Harvest Festival. Building permit There was one building per- mit issued during the month of June in the amount of $60,384. The unusually high permit was issued to Misericordia Universi- ty. Approved payments Payment was approved in the amount of $1,187.84 to Johnson Mirmiran & Thompson for the period of May 16 to June 15, 2009 for work completed on the Kenneth Young Memorial Park: master plan. Authorization was also grant- ed for borough officials to exe- cute an agreement with Mi- chael J. Pasonick Jr. of 165 N. Wilkes-Barre Blvd.,, Wilkes- Barre, for $7,450 payment for professional services rendered in connection with the design specifications and contract doc- uments for the 2009 Office of Community Development Block Grant. Tax audit Council acknowledged the receipt of the earned income tax audit for the year 2008 of H.A. Berkheimer Inc. as pre- pared by Michael T. Nardone, certified public accountant.
