Auditions will be held follow- ing the concert for California Baptist University scholarship opportunities for all high school juniors, seniors and (rdupior college students in- terested in pursuing music at the four-year university. Filipino Cultural Day is planned at New Life Conwy Church The New Life Community Church in Dallas will present its second Filipino Cultural Day, featuring the best of Fil- ipino cuisine and culture, on Sunday, July 19, at the church in the Twin Stacks Center, North Memorial Highway, Dallas. Gideon Gaitano, pastor of New Life, is formerly of the Philippines. Following the untimely death of his first wife, he came to the United States 20 years ago to study Filmmak- ing at Regent University in Virginia. While there, he met his cur- rent wife, Robin, daughter of Glenna Dymond Rozelle, of Dallas. The Filipino Cultural Day will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a Filipino meal, including Chicken Adobo, Pancit and Halo-halo prepared by many of the New Life Church at- tendees, some of whom are Filipino-Americans.
