Born in Nanticoke on Oct. 28, 1918, she was raised and educat- ed in Alden. The wife of a Meth- odist minister, she resided in many different locations in Pennsylvania as well as Oneon- ta and Unadilla, N.Y. After retirement, she and her husband built a home in Center- moreland. She later moved to Trucksville Manor Apartments, where she was an active mem- ber of the Trucksville United Methodist Church. In 2002, she moved to Wesley Village. Surviving are her son, Robert, of Butler; daughters, Georgia L., of Ludlow, Vt.; and Sally B. Mar- tin, of Chatham, N.J.; six grand- children; and three great-grand- children. DOYLE - William L., 86, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of Shavertown, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Lake Taylor Hospital, Norfolk, Va. Born in Pittston, he was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1940. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was for- merly employed by Dupont, Niagara Falls, N.Y. He was a member of St. Gre- gory the Great Church, Virginia Beach. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Magdalene Pavlick; daughter, Barbara Fet- terly, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one grandchild; two great-grandchil- dren; a brother, Paul, of Ashley; a sister, Jane Wolfe, of East Providence, R.1.; and nieces and nephews. IDE - Leonard H. Jr., 79, of Lehman Township, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Lehman on Novem- ber 23, 1929, he graduated from Lehman High School in 1948 and served in the US. Army from 1951 to 1957. He resided in Mount Fern, N.J., for 14 years where he was employed by the Hercules Ex- plosive Co., Kenvil, N.J. He re- turned to Lehman Township where he was employed by the Introducing Our NEW business line! Bendix Corp., South Montrose, followed by 26 years working for the Pennsylvania Gas & Wa- ter Co., retiring in 1991. Leonard was a 50-year mem- ber of the Lehman United Meth- odist Church and was also a member of the Osage Lodge 712, IOOF, Lehman. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Evelyn Will; daughters, Cynthia Jones, of Athens; and Donna Ide, of Bow, N.H.; three grandchildren. She was employed for 40 years by the Lake Township and Lake-Lehman School Districts as an elementary school teach- er. Upon retiring, she became a member of the Pennsylvania As- sociation of School Retirees. She was a member of the Loy- alville United Methodist Church, the Dallas Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, an honorary member of the Har- veys Lake Women’s Service Club and a member of the Penn- sylvania Quilters Association.
