Born March 13, 1939 in Wilkes- Barre, she was ormerly employed by Ace Hoffman Studios in Ply- mouth and also by Wachovia in Plymouth. She was a member of All Saints Parish and was a volunteer for the Catherine McCauley House and the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen. MEKA - Dr. Edward M., of Har- veys Lake, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at home. Born July 1, 1928 in Jessup, he was educated in Clifford Town- ship and graduated from Forest City High School, Class of 1946. He graduated from Temple Uni- versity in 1953. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps asLt. j.g. aboard the U.S. Shenandoah from 1953 to 1955 during the Ko- rean War. Dr. Meka then set up a private practice in Benton in 1955. He retired from private practice and continued to be the dentist for the Benton School District. His last employment was at the State Correctional In- stitute at Dallas as a dentist from 1985 to 2000. Dr. Meka was a member of the American Dental Association, VEFW Post 4909, Dupont; Cathol- ic War Vets 274 and the Harveys Lake American Legion Post 967. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, the former Lois Egenski; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great- nieces and great-great-nephews.
